Irish Teacher Jailed

Enoch Burke, an Irish teacher, was repeatedly punished for refusing to use a student’s preferred pronouns. Initially, Burke was suspended and jailed in 2022 for refusing to use the student’s pronouns and for trespassing on school grounds while suspended. He was jailed again in January 2023 for breaching an injunction that banned him from attending Wilson’s Hospital school.  Most recently, in September 2024, Burke was jailed for the third time for breaching court orders.  Burke’s actions have led to over 500 days of imprisonment as of March 2025
